Some wedding days make choosing favorites for the blog nearly impossible. Krista & Matthew’s Clarks Landing wedding was one of them.

On a Friday in July 2026, these two celebrated at Clarks Landing Yacht Club in Point Pleasant, NJ. There was plenty to photograph, but the moments we keep coming back to are Matt’s reactions to his bride. First look, private vows, walking down the aisle — Krista had him tearing up in the sweetest way.

From Old Friends to Something More

Krista & Matt knew each other growing up. After reconnecting later on, they became friends again, and that friendship eventually turned into dating. We love that their story had room to grow before it brought them here.

When it came time to plan their Clarks Landing wedding, Shotwell Productions was the first photography team they contacted. That meant so much to us, and getting to document this chapter for such a lovely couple made it even better.

A Proposal Worth Searching For

Matt’s proposal came with a little challenge: a game of hide-and-seek with an engagement ring.

He left clues around their apartment and told Krista that if she could find the ring, she could have it now. Otherwise, she would have to wait. She followed the clues, found the ring, and said yes! We’d say that was a pretty good reason to take hide-and-seek seriously.

A First Look, Private Vows, and All the Happy Tears

Their Clarks Landing wedding had no shortage of happy tears, starting with the first look by the deck. Matt’s reaction to seeing Krista was heartfelt and completely unfiltered.

The emotions continued during their private vow reading. Then, when Krista walked down the aisle at the ceremony, the tears came all over again. Seeing her beforehand didn’t make that moment any less meaningful.

Celebrating Two Hometown Heroes

Photographing this Clarks Landing wedding also meant celebrating two Hometown Heroes. Matt serves in the Marines, and Krista is a teacher. We have so much appreciation for the work they do, and we were honored to be part of a day devoted to celebrating them.

The couple had also booked Posh DJs, a team we love working with. We were so happy to be part of this wedding together.
