There’s something about a summer wedding at The Mill that always feels extra special. Between the lake views, beautiful grounds, and relaxed atmosphere, The Mill Lakeside Manor in Spring Lake, New Jersey, gives couples such a beautiful setting to celebrate.

Haley & Stephen’s Thursday wedding in August 2026 was no exception. Their day felt warm, romantic, and genuinely happy from beginning to end.

From Sayen Gardens to Their Wedding Day

We actually had the chance to spend some time with Haley & Stephen before their wedding when we photographed their engagement session at Sayen Gardens just a couple of months earlier.

Engagement sessions are always a great way for us to get to know our couples and help them feel comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding. By the time their wedding at The Mill arrived, seeing Haley & Stephen again felt easy and familiar.

And getting to photograph the next chapter of their story made the day even more meaningful.

A First Look by the Lake

One of our favorite moments from Haley & Stephen’s wedding at The Mill was their first look.

With the lake behind them, the two had a quiet moment together before the rest of the wedding day really got underway. First looks are always special because they give couples a few minutes to simply see each other, take everything in, and enjoy the moment without a room full of people watching.

The waterfront at The Mill made the perfect backdrop for it.

One of the reasons we always enjoy photographing and filming a wedding at The Mill is the variety of scenery throughout the property.

The lake, greenery, elegant architecture, and waterfront views give us so many opportunities to create beautiful portraits while still leaving plenty of room for the candid moments that happen naturally throughout the day.

Haley & Stephen were such a sweet couple to work with, and their personalities made photographing them feel effortless.

A Beautiful New Chapter

More than anything, Haley & Stephen’s wedding felt like the beginning of a really happy new chapter.

There were romantic moments, plenty of smiles, beautiful portraits by the water, and all those small interactions throughout the day that often end up becoming some of our favorite photographs and video clips.

Their wedding at The Mill was a reminder that every wedding story is different — and that the best ones are the ones that feel completely true to the couple.
