With the golden October sun melting into the horizon and the sound of gentle waves setting the rhythm, these two radiated the kind of love that’s both effortless and deeply real.
A Perfect Evening at Manasquan Beach
The setting couldn’t have been more perfect. The wide expanse of Manasquan Beach offered a calm, picturesque backdrop as the sky turned shades of gold, pink, and lavender. Shelby & Michael walked hand-in-hand along the shore, stealing glances and laughter between the waves. Their adorable dog joined the fun, happily running circles around them — the sweetest third wheel we’ve ever seen during a shoot.
Every frame captured during this Manasquan Beach Engagement session was a mix of romance and playfulness. From barefoot moments in the sand to sunset silhouettes framed by the ocean glow, it was as if the world paused just for them.
Their Story: From Chance Meeting to Forever
Shelby & Michael’s love story began the way great stories often do — by pure chance. She was tending bar one night, and he struck up a conversation. “He’s lucky it worked,” Shelby laughs now, but it clearly did. Two and a half years later, here they are, planning forever together.
Michael, who works as an athletic director at a college, planned the proposal at the beach — a full-circle moment that made their Manasquan Beach Engagement even more meaningful. Shelby didn’t suspect a thing, even though there were some obvious hints. He asked her to get her nails done, and even laid out a few nice dresses for her to wear. Still, she had no idea. When he got down on one knee, the world around them faded, and all that remained was joy.
Why This Session Meant So Much
We first met Michael’s family when we filmed his sister’s wedding back in June 2020 at Bonnet Island. Since then, we’ve loved staying connected. Shelby & Michael chose us because they loved our laid-back, natural style, and that easygoing connection made this Manasquan Beach Engagement shoot even more personal.
Watching them together, you can’t help but smile. Their love is genuine, unposed, and full of laughter — the kind that photographs beautifully because it’s so real. We can’t wait to capture their wedding next September and continue telling their story through our lens.
