Patrice & Joe Engagement – Photo
This is it. We put ourselves out there. We had advertised our photography services on Craigslist. We shouldn’t have felt as nervous as we did. I mean, we’d been successful in videography for quite some time, but this was new. This was the opportunity for Shotwell Productions to soar or come crashing down.
Now, I don’t know how many of you out there have utilized the services of Craigslist, but this is a real gamble. There are some very interesting people out there in the world and they are now able to contact us. Well, we hit the jackpot. Not financially, but please allow me to explain.
We get our first email from our ad and a woman is inquiring about pricing for photos for a wedding. She has some concerns because she has a tight budget and she is in an inter-racial relationship and her experience with pictures have been difficult. Her future husband ends up looking too pale or her features are lost because she looks too dark. We were up for the challenge and scheduled an engagement session in a Cherry Blossom park called Branch Brook Park in Newark.
We kept the session simple and genuine because that is what this couple was, genuine. We delivered the photos and they were happy. So happy in fact, that they booked a two shooter photo package and a single shooter video package. Not only did we book our first client (meaning we didn’t previously know them), we also made some great friends.
Patrice and Joe were there when we got engaged, we were treated like family when we worked their wedding, and we have stayed in touch since.
