There are some engagement sessions that feel straight out of a storybook, and Mariann & Jack’s Princeton University engagement session was exactly that. Set against the historic architecture, quiet pathways, and timeless charm of Princeton University, their photos felt romantic, effortless, and almost like scenes from a fairytale.
Mariann & Jack were a joy to photograph from the moment we started. The way they naturally connect with each other made every moment feel genuine and relaxed. It’s always easy to create beautiful images when two people are so clearly happy together, and their Princeton University engagement session captured that perfectly.
A Love Story That Started During Uncertain Times
Like many modern love stories, Mariann & Jack’s began during the COVID years. During that time, Jack would visit Mariann at her dad’s house, slowly building a relationship that would grow stronger over time.
Both of them are true hometown heroes. Mariann works as a nurse, dedicating her life to caring for others, while Jack serves as a police officer protecting his community. Their commitment to helping people around them makes their story even more meaningful.
As their relationship grew, it became clear they had found something special. Spending time together, supporting each other through busy and demanding careers, and sharing everyday moments all helped build the strong bond they have today.

A Proposal at Longwood Gardens
Jack planned the proposal at the stunning Longwood Gardens, a location known for its breathtaking scenery and romantic atmosphere. But like many grooms-to-be, he carried a secret that many couples will find relatable — he was incredibly nervous.
Before proposing, the two of them spent nearly two hours walking around the gardens. Jack later admitted that the reason he waited so long was because of just how nervous he was to ask such an important question.
When the moment finally came, though, everything fell into place. The nerves faded, the question was asked, and Mariann said yes.
It was the beginning of a new chapter that eventually led us to their Princeton University engagement photos.
A Fairytale Setting at Princeton University
Princeton University is one of our favorite locations for engagement sessions in New Jersey. Between the historic stone archways, ivy-covered walls, and peaceful walkways, it provides a timeless setting that feels both elegant and romantic.
Mariann & Jack looked completely at home there. Whether they were walking hand-in-hand through the campus paths or sharing quiet moments under the arches, every scene felt like it belonged in a fairytale.

Looking Ahead to Their Clarks Landing Wedding
While this engagement session was already incredibly special, we’re even more excited for what’s coming next.
Mariann & Jack will be tying the knot this November at Clarks Landing Yacht Club, one of our favorite wedding venues. If their engagement session is any indication, their wedding day will be filled with just as much love, laughter, and beautiful moments.
