If you ask most parents, they will tell you that the teenage years of their children’s lives are some of the hardest. I, on the other hand, love working with 16 year olds during their sweet 16 celebrations. Chelsea and her court were some great young women.

The venue was really busy that night, but they did a wonderful job at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge NJ. The tables were set up with a Paris travel theme and there was plenty of space for all the guests to enjoy the event.

The Grand Marquis has so many secret little hidden spots to take photos and one of the managers there was more than happy to take us on a tour to show us each one. Since this celebration started when the sun was already down, we were happy to be able to utilize these indoor treasured spots.

Chelsea was such a pleasure to work with. She gladly posed with each member of her 10 girl entourage. You want to know the greatest thing about 16 year old girls? They know how to pose for the camera and they absolutely love it. All I have to do is point the lens in their general direction!

After the candle lighting ceremony, there was a heart felt tribute montage to her late grandfather. The family asked that the grandmother take center stage and dance with all of her children during the montage and I could feel so much love from this family that it was hard for me to fight back tears of emotion.

I wish I had more time with this family. They were beautiful, sincere, and the dance floor was never once empty.
