The November weather played nice, the lake was sparkling, and the entire day felt like a rom-com come to life (but with better dancing).

These two have been together for five years, and their love story began in the most 2020 way possible: they matched on JSwipe. Fast-forward through dog memes, date nights, and inside jokes, and eventually Dan planned a proposal that would make any Nicholas Sparks character jealous.

The Proposal That Almost Wasn’t

Dan’s plan? Propose in front of Chelsea’s favorite lake in Bar Harbor, Maine. Only… plot twist: the road to that exact lake was closed. But never fear. Thanks to a quick-thinking photographer and a scenic backup location, Dan got down on one knee in front of a different lake that turned out to be even more perfect. Chelsea was totally surprised and had no clue it was coming. Nailed it.
