Between working full time and pursuing our dreams in photography and videography with Shotwell Productions we re-member our roots. We are so often inspired by the people and places around us and we want to integrate them into our big dream. That is why we regularly donate our time and passions to help these good causes succeed!
Life isn’t all about working, moving forward, and reaching your goals. It’s about helping others see their dreams and goals, and elevating them to achieve it! We find immeasurable joy when our photos make people smile, or help a fundraising event gain awareness, or even to help a beautiful shelter animal find new owners!
Cardiovascular diseases and stroke are the #1 cause of death in New Jersey. The AHA aims to increase awareness about the signs of stroke and educate on the dangers of heart disease. Staffed with some of the nicest people we have ever worked with, they host numerous events throughout the year that bring people and companies together for a great cause. Whether it is a regional Heart Walk, or a ballroom gala honoring Survivor Ambassadors, we are always happy to be on hand and photograph these amazing events! We have been invited back several times to help capture the memories of this wonderful organization and they have really helped us bring to fruition our dream of giving back.
As life long pet lovers, the Trenton Animal Shelter is one of the charities closest to our hearts. They are extremely caring and protective of their animals, and do an excellent job of finding forever homes for many wonderful dogs and cats. We are currently fostering four awesome kittens through this organization and regularly take photos and donate goods to help them continue taking great care of their animals.
It’s amazing how when you do good things, more good things come your way. This is how we met the people of Urban Promise. These volunteers donate their time to the children of Trenton to uplift them and support them in discovering their great potential in school and in life. They provide the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, spiritual growth, and religious values. At Shotwell, we have witnessed firsthand the incredible amount of good they are doing for the community, and the response from the kids and adults has been tremendous. There is so much love and passion coming from the staff at UP that we naturally just fit right in!
400,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with MS, and 14,000 of them are right here in our backyard. The MS Society helps people affected by MS address the challenges of living with MS. They raise money for cutting-edge research, and provide programs and services to empower people with MS and their families to move their lives forward. A charity very near and dear to us, as one of our co-workers was diagnosed with this disease 15 years ago.
